There's an RAM related issue that bothers me for a while

As we all already know, all DB3150 phones have 64 MB SDRAM.

Unofficially, what many people don't like, DB3150 is divided by some modders into DB3150v1(K850, W910, K660, G502, W890 and maybe one or two more) and DB3150v2(W595, C702 etc.) (or either "old DB3150" and "new DB3150").

And here's my problem - what am I missing?

The so-called DB3150v1 phones have at most 15MB of free heap on startup, phone_app+phone_acc's size is about 40MB altogether. The new DB3150 phone have as I believe 20 or more MB of heap on startup while the main files are noticeably(about 6-8MB) bigger. My first thought was that maybe old DB3150s have less RAM (like 32+16MB) but that's obiously a stupid thought. DB3150 is DB3150 and the base hardware is the same.

Anyone could enlighteen me on this strange issue? I'm aware that I'm possibly just missing something important, but it all just seems strange to me.

 okejokej, на ельфсе появилась мысль что на этой платформе стоит 2 платы по 64мб, там дажн схемы вроде показывали, я правда в них не разбираюсь, посмотри если поцмешь что я написал
З.Ы. переведите этому человеку то что я написал, а то я не в силах)))

 Насчет на всех 3150 - 64: на к850 согласно дебаг логу 32. Ну эт вообще странный аппарат, и флеш там НОР)))

Насчет схем: сдается мне там схема платы с 2мя площадками под чипы, но эт не значит что их там 2...

 BlackSerh, I have read the topic on elfse few days ago already =p For now I'd be really very skeptic about the information given there... (especially that the "hand-drawn" schematics show 2x32MB not 2x64MB)

About 32MB in K850, I did some research and it seems to be true, although I'm not entirely sure.

For old DB3150 it'd look like this then:
K850:128MB NOR + 32MB SDRAM :-o
W910: ???+??? (can't find info on it :<, probably like other old DB3150s other than K850)
K660:128MB NAND + 64MB SDRAM
K630:128MB NAND + 64MB SDRAM
W890:128MB NAND + 64MB SDRAM
G502:128MB NAND + 64MB SDRAM

new DB3150 example:
C702:128MB NAND + 64MB SDRAM

So yeah, K850 seems different but it also has much less heap(well, maybe not so much but few MB) available than other old DB3150 phones. So it still doesn't explain the weird heap limitation on in example W890 I use ... Also I don't really get why old DB3150s aren't crossflashable with new ones, but that's not a question for this topic

 Возник вопросец: загружается ли .ic-файл полностью в озу? Т.е. имеет ли смысл мне выкидывать всякий мусор оттуда чтоб вес файла был меньше => меньший расход озу

А на w595(25-26 мб)
Получается что на А2 первом колене меньше выходит хипа чем на втором?

На w890-12мб хипа это только свободно.
А интересно сколько всего рамы?
Зы. 80мб-это всей рамы? Или доступной пользователю?
